Operatic settings of movement

1920s_London.jpg

A fusion between opera and dance-theatre. The perception of one character is expressed through multiple view-points of the self. Dream-like recollections of her past contrast the starkly concrete present. Memories are disrupted and become a point of gravity in the passing of one single day.

Opera/dance-theatre work based on the novel ‘Mrs Dalloway’ by Virginia Woolf. Premiere performance at Pulsar Festival, Copenhagen with soprano with soprano Johanna Maria Nylund as Dalloway; dancer Jessica Lyall as Dalloway’s Shadow; dancers Stefanos Bizas and Ruth Rebekka Hansen as Abstractions; and conductor Jean Thorel.

Duration for Pulsar Festival is 35 minutes.

The work is based on Virginia Woolf’s novel ‘Mrs Dalloway’.
